Drug Store Moisturizer: Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

Updated: Feb 18

Unfortunately, local drug stores and pharmacies don't usually offer products that are ethical both in how they treat the environment and how they treat human beings. This is disheartening because so many human beings rely on their local pharmacies and don't have the means or capability to order some bougie ass item from the internet. What is the closest common, ordinary item we can get at a drug store to be as safe as possible? We all need moisturizer and if you're running to CVS or Walgreens - this option lets you be as safe as possible.

Cetaphil. Cetaphil can be used for both face and body. It's super cheap, only $11. 99 for

8 ounces. You can buy it legit anywhere, CVS, Target, Walgreens, Amazon. It's a more liquidy consistency, smooth and easy.

However, it's def not perfect. It's very, very low risk, but it does have Ceteareth-20, which is a PEG derivative that in production creates a gas that's

harmful to human health. It's not recommended for children below the age of 3 with sensitive skin, and it has benzoyl alcohol, which is a big allergen, and has a moderate risk of non-reproductive organ toxicity.

It has an EWG score of 2/10, and an 'excellent' Yuka rating of 86/100. It's cheap, easy to

access, and p solid. Next up, we'll be doing non-drug store affordable moisturizers that are more ideal.
